GAHH! I am so mad that Genting won the bid to the IR. Honestly whywhywhy? I don't think e reasons given were very satisfactory lehh.
The ST said the trump cards were:
1)Family-orientated theme Universal Studios
2)Oceanarium, maritime museum, water park
3)30 thousand job opps, $2.7billion econ boost.
BUT
1) Har. Okay lor, but u really wanna compete with Walt Disney?
2) Okay since we're going to have the world's largest oceanarium, then wohoo! we're finally the biggest in something structurally. Sounds cool too. But a maritime museum?? We alr have one in Sentosa and i don't think it was sucha hit. I guess a water theme park is family-orientated enuf, but COME ON!!!
Vera Wang could unite all women in e name of fashion, Pele could spread e spirit of brotherhood thru sport (n maybe help e S League get somewhere), Alain Ducasse bonds us even more to each other by exploring our common love for good food, and Deepak Chopra ...well, need i say more. And the crater-idea came with a theme park too, didnt it???
The CapitaLand one was impressive too! With the WOAH futuristic facade and e robotics within, how better to portray Singapore as a techno-hub? Fusionpolis is only gg to be accessible to R&D staff, but e Kernzer-designed casino will be open to THE WORLD. And i thot we're suppose to support local firms?
3) U mean e rest won't?
I guess cos since Genting wins, Malaysia is happy. Oh well, i rather get more water than have an out-of-this-world, incomparable, iconic casino e world will be in awe of.
